How to enable Remote Desktop via Group Policy

This one had me stumped, but it’ll teach me to search the internet properly before blundering through. Even if you allow the Windows Firewall to accept Remote Desktop Connections you still need to enable Terminal Services elsewhere in the GP hierarchy. D’oh!

How to Obtain the Java MSI Installer

Visit The offline download page for Java
Click on “Agree and Start Free Download”
Run the .exe you just downloaded
Wait for the MSI installer to download
Once it’s downloaded you’ll be asked if you want to install
At this point, check in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\
You’ll find the MSI in the subdirectory jre<version_number>
